ONE-MAN-OPERATION

In year 2005, I came out to work as a freelance programmer.

In my mind, I was thinking that the applications I had developed is making others people richer. Why not develop application to make myself richer?

Finally, I made a bold move by quitting my job and work freelance. Giving myself one-year for this attempt. The outcome was a complete disaster!

Initially, I was doing sales and marketing. However, since my experience on this area was zero, it was a very tough job. Thru friends' reference, I managed to find some projects. However, when I start working on projects, sales and market effort stops. There is not continuation of projects to maintain income.

I paid a high price this valuable experience. For those are thinking of starting a "One-Man-Operation" business, think thrice. Learn from my experience and do have a detailed, realistic plan. If your plan does not included to expand manpower within a year, you are likely to fail.

Just think, how can 1-person can be a salesman, admin staff, manager, finance, engineer. Even you can be a multi-tasking superman, how long can you sustain your super-powers?
