Majority parents in Singapore expects good results from their children. Easily seen as tuition centers business have flourish for many years and will continue to boom.
My expectation from my children is along as they have put in their effort I will not reprimand them. I will look into the methods that they have used for learning, look for ways to change the methods they use. Not increase unnecessary more work or burden.
In work, we always work smart not work hard. In study, help your children to study smart not study hard.
Below is some ideas of improving your child results, which you can look into:
- Mind-map: easy ways to memories the tons of knowledge taught.
- Effective revision: Revision the work taught 3-days ago, instead of burning mid-night oil before exams.
- Focus on key subjects: Arts, history are good-to-know subjects. Spend more effort and time for important subject like Math, Science and English even it means cutting time for others. For example, usually we spend 30 minutes on each subjects. Change to 10 minutes on less importance subject and 45 minutes on focused subjects.
