In the current world there is no such thing job security, even working for the government or you have worked with the company for 15, 20 years.
You need to plan for the future. I have so many people around me that do not plan for the future. Most people rely very much on their CPF or their children to support them.
For CPF, you will survive, but if you want to live comfortable it will not be sufficient.
For children, even worst, you never know if they are able to provide for themselves or not. Not to even consider, providing for you.
The idea is to build on your portfolio income and passive income. Protect yourself, do not reply on the government or company to plan for your retirement. (They have no obligation to do that).

There is definitely no job security. Jobs are for us to learn and to perfect our skills.
Even if we are working in our business, it is still a job. It is only the ownership of business that makes the difference. :)
