When I was studying at school, we always came across this phrase - "Time is Money". Because we get allowance from our parent, thus the true meaning of this phrase is not clear. Even after working for so many years, only till recently I further understand this pharse. However, I believe there are more deeper meaning to it.
Please allow me to share my understanding, especially to students. Students know that if they study hard, they get good grades, their parents will be delighted. But where does money comes into play? Spending time studying is an investing, because Time = Money. Thus spending time studying = spending money on studies. Your investment will ripe it harvest when you start working because with better qualification you have a better pay.
But a word of cautious, you are falling into the trap of the rat race (read my previous blog on rat race). Having a higher pay does not make you financially free, however you does have a better start in the race as compared to people who are in a lower income.
For working adults, like me, the pharse applys too. If you invest most of your time into work (overtime, etc), you will get better increment, higher bonus. Or you invest your free time in doing your own business (which I am doing now) you will get the money from the business generated. So it a matter of choices where you wanna put you time in.
Another tip: you should know your objective/goal and invest your time towards it, it is pointless if you are planning to going north and you are traveling east/west, you will never reach you destination. Thus the value of investment of time is zero.
Invest wisely!
